About Me

This is me.

You’re probably wondering how I got here. After all, swapping stories, loudly laughing with a raptor is nothing to scoff at.

My name is Sahil Patel, and I’m an analyst, educator, and accessibility advocate at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. I started my career at HMNS when I was 22 years old as an outreach presenter, or when I was 19 as a camp coordinator, or when I was 17 as a volunteer coordinator, or when I was 15 as a Moran Ecoteen volunteer, or when I was 6 as a summer camper, or when I was 1 and going to work with my mom and visiting the museum every day during her lunch breaks.

Along the way, I developed passions for sports, photography, all things science, and my hometown of Houston, TX. I practiced journalism at Washington University in St. Louis while earning my bachelor’s degree, and tested my limits while earning an MBA at the University of Houston while holding down my full-time job.

In my second semester at UH, I took a class called Search Engine Marketing, co-taught by two professors with both academic and professional experience. One of my biggest takeaways from that class (and the subsequent one on Social Media Marketing taught by the same professors) was the importance of consistent, clean branding. After a lot of consideration (and a lot of google searching to uncover just how many Sahil Patel’s there are in the world), I felt it was time to create a personal website!

Here, you’ll find an updated cache of accomplishments, photos from my latest adventures, and a blog with my musings on sports, life, and the world. I hope you enjoy it! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!
